Leopard

About Me
Leopards (Panthera pardus) are in the cat family, Felidae. Leopards don't really have spots, their black patterns are called "rosettes." Unlike jaguars, leopard rosettes do not have spots in the middle. Melanistic leopards, commonly called black panthers, carry a recessive genetic allele that darkens their markings so their fur look nearly black.
